Akintomide Akinshola (b. 1995) is a contemporary visual artist from a long line of crop farmers in the ancient city of Ondo, Ondo State, Nigeria. He currently lives and works in Lagos State, Nigeria. Akintomide developed a strong interest in art from a very young age, which led him to explore his ideas through the use of domestic materials while growing up. His passion for art grew and led him to earn his bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Art Education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (ACE Ondo chapter), Osun State, Nigeria. Akintomide has participated in group exhibitions both locally and internationally. In a modern world where the importance of relationships and companionship has been underestimated, Akintomide’s works serve as documentations of the significance of these connections, creating pieces that reawaken scenes that bring us together as humans.
