Biography

Sotonye Jumbo, an accomplished visual artist and graduate of Cross River State University of Technology, has carved out a distinctive career in the world of contemporary art. His journey took a pivotal turn during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program at the Omooba Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon Art Foundation, where he launched his signature "Radiohead" series. Since then, he has become a recognized name in both local and international art circles. Jumbo has participated in numerous high-profile exhibitions and workshops, such as the "Next of Kin" art exhibition (2018), the Harmattan Workshop, and the Spotify Playlist Art Exhibition (2023). His dedication to his craft has earned him several accolades, including winning the Plein Air Lagos Art Competition in 2021. His artworks have been featured in global collections, including the African Town Project in Seattle, USA, and have been showcased through interviews on Nigeria Info's Daily Digest and TVC's "Wake Up Nigeria".
